長吻飛旋海豚

台灣目前的飛旋海豚有兩個亞種:(1)長吻飛旋海豚Stenella longirostris (2)侏儒飛旋海豚Stenella longirostris roseiventris，本篇紀錄的為長吻飛旋海豚Stenella longirostris。

最大體重:75~90KG

台語俗稱:尖咩、白肚仔

食物來源:魚類、頭足類、甲殼類

1994-2001年於台灣沿岸非法捕獵查扣、漁業混獲及擱淺的死亡標本飛旋海豚胃內食物，發現燈籠魚科佔絕大多數，其中以長鰭珍燈魚Lampanyctus vadulus最多(王 2002)

飛旋海豚，它的的英文名字叫做Spinner dolphin，雖然體型不大，但它們行為非常多樣，其中一項-"空中轉體"是飛旋海豚的招牌動作，而這也是它們中文、英文名字的由來。

飛旋在台灣海域的空中轉體最高紀錄是7.5圈，但究竟為何要躍起?目前沒有人能給一個肯定的答案。

根據科學歸納法推測，有可能是因為寄生生物黏著在它們身上，也有可能是他們的社交行為、表達情緒的方式之一。

依目前觀察，每群飛旋海豚的行為差異非常大，有些會不停躍身擊浪、空中轉體等，但有幾次遇到的群體就顯得特別文靜，或不打理船隻。

飛旋海豚的成體體長大約為2.1~2.2米，體重約為75~90公斤，在海豚中算是苗條的品種，它們有幾項特別容易辨識的特徵:

(1)三層體色:上層深灰+中層淺灰+腹部白色

備註:腹部在運動時因為微血管擴張會呈現粉紅色

(2)細長的嘴

(3)從眼睛延伸到胸鰭的眼線

時常出現之行為:

躍身擊浪、豚游、轉體、交配、垂直跳躍、搶親、船艏乘浪

而漁民也依照飛旋的外觀幫它們取了一些綽號像是:白肚仔、尖嘴仔等，飛旋出現通常都是上百隻起跳，甚至有時會出現上千隻飛旋大會師的景象，非常壯觀!

飛旋海豚是花蓮海域的老鄰居，有時出港不到三分鐘就可以在港嘴遇見它。這種海豚也是我目前遇見最多次的，也因為他們每次出現的群體行為都不同，在海上遇見它們會是件很有趣味的事~

Spinner dolphin

Spinner dolphins(Stenella longirostris), their max body length is about 2.1~2.2 meters, with a weight range about 75~90 kilograms. Compare to other dolphins they are small-sized.

Although the are small-sized, they have rich behaviors such as spinning, the record of spinner dolphin’s rotation is 7.5, but why do they jump out of the water?

We still don’t know the exact reason, maybe there are some animals sticking to their body; they want to get rid of it, or they are just socializing with others.

There are some easy ways to recognize Spinner dolphins:

(1)three layers of colors(top layer is dark gray, middle layer is light gray, white belly)

(2)Long and thin snout

(3)An eyeline start from their eyes to flippers
